Great place for the particular need.

I recently went to get my labs done as my doctor requested. I had asked if we needed to sign in at the front desk before going to the room where the labs would be taken, my doctor had said there was no need. Well after I had walked passed the front desk the receptionist had waited for me to get half way down the hall before loudly yelling at me to sign in, with another receptionist behind her shaking her head disapproving at me. After I had explained i was there for labs she continued very loudly and in a rude tone to say that I could have at least informed her to where I was going. I have a hard time with needles already so I was already having a hard time with anxiety and the way she shouted at me did not help as well as the embarrassment from making this a public matter. I continued on to get my labs done and the lady that did them was very nice and helpful she helped me calm down and I really appreciate her. I am just upset with the situation that had occurred.

I have been going to Oaklawn now for about 7 years, when I first decided to start I was at my lowest of lows, the only time in my life I felt I was going to act on my suicidal thoughts. I had never been as depressed as I was in those few months and I have delt with depression almost my entire life. I really didn’t believe I could be helped, but I tried for my children’s sake as my oldest son had already lost his father to reckless decisions. Brandy saved my life, she has continuously encouraged me and never judged me even when most would have. She has not only been one of the best phycologists I have ever met, she has also been a good friend. She has helped to guide me in the right direction and been there through every up and every down I’ve had over this past 7 years, despite my many screw ups she has never made me feel as though I was just a mess, she really saved my life, I can not stress this enough. If you do the work on yourself and actually use the program and take the advice given, this place can and will help. You also have to be patient and understand you are not the only client being worked with.
